همایش های علمی بین المللی رایزنی علمی جمهوری اسلامی ایران در لندن
1st Biennial International Conference in Humanities
نخستین همایش دوسالانه بین المللی علوم انسانی در لندن سال ۱۳۸۹
September 2010 (18th / 19th) - از ۲۷ تا ۲۸ شهریور ماه ۱۳۸۹
Introduction
Today it is widely accepted that the unrivaled achievements of human beings in the realm of science and technology and the ever-increasing prosperity of various aspects of civil life owe a great deal to the systematic research-oriented production of knowledge in different areas of Humanities. However, many scholars argue that the existence of the bulk of ills, anarchies, disenchantments and inefficiencies in human societies is a result of inadequate attention to the very essence of Humanities that would simultaneously acknowledge the spiritual as well as secular aspects of human nature. The gradual elimination of spirituality from the body of Humanities has minimally reduced its infinite potential to the limited boundaries of secular rationalism and scienticism. The most immediate outcome of such a worldview is that human beings miss out on the many golden life-enhancing opportunities. This neglect towards mankind’s transcendental nature and astonishingly endless capacity in marrying the sacred and the profane has further intensified modern man’s desire and dynamism to embrace the kind of rationality and scientific inquiry that are based on spirituality and faith in the Divine.
In order to address these traits and further advance theory in the broad arena of Humanities, this 1st Biennial International Conference invites scholars from a wide variety of disciplines to share their ideas and exchange thoughts in a friendly and scholarly atmosphere. Researchers are invited to participate with either a paper or poster presentation. To be included in the review process, both of these require submission of an extended abstract. Due to the inter-disciplinary nature of the conference, and in order to improve the exchange of ideas among the participants, we strongly advise that authors avoid or minimise the use of their hefty disciplinary jargon and instead communicate via a more expressive, understandable and bridging language.
